JAMES PANTEMIS
Our pride and joy!
James Pantemis’ passion for football dates back a very long time. From the parks of the Western Suburbs of Montreal as a child, to the stadiums in Qatar for the World Cup “the most prestigious football competition in the world”, shows us where passion and talent can lead. Representing Canada on the national World Cup team is the greatest achievement of his professional career to date. And it certainly makes us all proud to see James with our Canadian team in action on the other side of the world.
A graduate of École Socrates-Démosthène Campus III in Roxboro of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, Pantemis started playing football for AS Pierrefonds at the age of four and later played for CS Lakeshore before moving on. He joined the Montreal Impact academy in 2014. A native of Kirkland, he was part of the club’s first team in MLS for two seasons, having signed his first professional contract with the club in November 2017. He has helped the team win the 2019 Canadian Championship, starting and winning two games during the tournament. He made his professional debut on July 24, 2019 in a 1-0 shutout win over York9 FC.
Pantemis has been selected four times by the Canadian national team, for training camps and international competitions. He was first called up to the Canada Under-15 team in 2012 and has played with the U16, U17, U18 and U20 teams. He represented Canada at the Toulon tournament in 2018 with the U23s, winning the title for best save by a Canadian goalkeeper, following a spectacular save against Japan at the tournament.
In November 2022, Pantemis was selected to the Canadian squad for the 2022 FFA World Cup.
Our students, our families, our community and all Canadians will follow James Pantemis and the Canadian team closely and cheer them on loudly.
