At the Socrates-Demosthenes School, we like to celebrate March 25th. Parents, teachers, administrators, secretaries and, most of all, pupils join together to make a vibrant tribute to our beloved Greece.
We would like to thank all these people for giving so much heart and time to make this event a memorable one.

The Socrates-Demosthenes School
The celebrations of March 25 began well before the day of the parade. There were hours and days of preparation and rehearsals leading to wonderful shows in each of the campuses. Here are some images and impressions of these performances.
Demosthenes:
The spectacle of the independence of Greece took place at the Demosthenes Campus on Wednesday, March 22nd. The spectators were delighted to see their children perform theater plays, recite poems, sing in full voice, and dance beautiful Greek dances.
Socrates II :
The theme of the Campus II show was Greek women and their essential role in all the struggles of the Hellenic nation.
Socrates III :
On March 23, 2017, the Socrates III campus celebrated Greek independence with poems, plays and songs. All the parents were at the rendezvous to attend an unforgettable spectacle! A big thank you to our students and teachers who worked hard to offer us such a beautiful show!
Socrates IV :
On March 24, students of the Socrates-Demosthenes School, Campus IV, celebrated the National Day of 25 March 1821, the Independence Day of Greece
Socrates V :
On March 24, relatives and friends gathered at the gymnasium of the Socrates-Demosthenes campus V school to celebrate the independence of Greece. All students were able to highlight the event by singing, dancing, reciting poems or playing plays. The festivities delighted the many spectators. Congratulations to our students and their teachers on this great achievement.
On Saturday, there were the wreaths at the Cenotaph and the dinner where the students of Socrates-Demosthenes shone on stage.
They sang, recited verses and played on stage in front of a room of notables and people just happy to be there.
On the day of the parade, the sun was splendid but it was cold. People of all ages and everywhere, musicians, politicians, scouts, mascots, moms, dads, and, most of all, many children came to celebrate with Montrealers of Greek descent.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau honored the event by agreeing to be the Grand Marshal. Its presence has delighted the thousands of people on its way
The Socrates-Demosthenes School was represented with energy and good humor by all students on all campuses and high school.
