On March 7, the organizing committee of Tastes and Traditions invited the media to a press conference to take stock of the event held on the 29th January. Extremely well organized, this gastronomic adventure had a unique purpose: to raise funds to meet the needs of our schools, to guarantee their survival and that of Hellenism in Quebec.
Present at the press conference were Tassos Xipolitakis, chairman of the organizing committee of the event, as well as several active members of the committee, Nicolas Pagonis, President of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal (CHGM) and Zoi Batsis, The CHGM and Secretary of Education,.
The committee officially offered a check for $ 34,743.46 to the CHGM president for our schools, the net result of the Tastes and Traditions event. It was a very moving moment: so many people had worked so hard to get there!
Given such a success, all we can do is say a huge thank you, and looking forward to next year!
